Vinometer for volume % in wine
Measuring range: 0-25 vol
Measuring device for determining the alcohol content in volume percent (vol.%) of wines and wine-like beverages with low residual sugar, based on the adhesion principle. Measuring range from 0-25 vol. percent. Deviations of up to 0.5% are possible. Not suitable for liqueurs or highly sweetened mixtures.
Application :
Pour in the wine and let a few drops run through until no more air bubbles remain in the capillary tube. Tilt the device to remove any remaining wine from the funnel, then place the vinometer, funnel-down, on a dry surface. The liquid will now descend in the capillary tube. The higher the alcohol content, the lower the liquid will sink. Look at eye level, perhaps slightly to the side, to see the liquid level in the capillary tube and read the result as you would a thermometer. After use, rinse thoroughly with water to clean the device. Remove any remaining water from the capillary tube (by blowing through it, etc.).
The reading will be inaccurate if the wine is not clear and has not fully fermented. Recommended measuring temperature: 20°C. Deviations may slightly alter the result. Accuracy decreases with wines containing high residual sugar and with sparkling wines.
