Kestrel nesting cavity no. 28
Delivery date upon request!
The common kestrel is a dedicated ground hunter, capturing its prey on the ground. Farmers and foresters, among others, appreciate this bird, as it primarily hunts mice. Common kestrels are very territorial.
Bedding:
To accelerate settlement, it is recommended to place a moist mixture of coarse sawdust, wood shavings and washed sand into the nesting cavity.
Hanging location:
Suitable locations include isolated trees, quiet forest edges, field barns, power poles, silos, etc. In urban areas, the following locations are recommended: larger structures such as high walls and fences, chimneys, industrial buildings, churches, etc. In treeless areas, the nesting box can be placed on high poles for mouse control.
