Description
Titrovin blue hydroxide
Suitable (necessary) accessories:
Item No. VR74100 Acid measuring cylinder, Item No. VR74900 Litmus paper
This item is available in various package sizes:
- 100ml
- 250ml
Application:
The juice or wine to be tested must be free of carbon dioxide (shake).
First, the test cylinder is rinsed with it, and then the juice or wine is filled up to the 0 mark of the acid measuring cylinder (titration cylinder).
The blue lye solution is now added drop by drop and mixed by tilting the cylinder, which is sealed with the thumb.
The alkali neutralizes the acid. The color changes to dark green and then blue when neutrality is reached.
For dark green, read the acidity in grams per liter (parts per thousand) at eye level at the intersection. Scale graduations: 0–15 grams.
Application of litmus paper:
For measuring acidity in dark juices/wines - determining the color change.
Place one drop at a time onto the neutral litmus paper.
As soon as the color of the paper no longer changes (red = acid still present, blue = too much alkali has already been used), the scale value is read on the acid measuring cylinder.
Always read the label and product information before use:
