The enclosure is protected against martens by two staggered entry holes and the built-in mesh on the floor ensures drainage of excrement.
Ornithologists recommend hanging three little owl nest boxes in close proximity to each other, as these are necessary for their future young, as food caches, etc. This greatly increases their chances of survival.
Recommended bedding: Coarse sawdust or wood shavings, as well as a wood-sand mixture, are very suitable as bedding.
Installation:
On practically all tree species except cherry trees, since the harvest time coincides with the nestling time.
The little owl nest box is placed on a branch section that is as horizontal as possible and secured to the branch using the four galvanized perforated metal strips and our special aluminum nails. In pollarded trees, the boxes can also be placed and fastened in the "head" of the tree. The entrance for the birds faces the trunk side of the tree.
