The 3SV nesting box is a predator-proof starling nesting box with an enlarged breeding chamber. The pre-cut entrance hole provides excellent protection against cats and martens. Despite this, the view into the breeding chamber remains unobstructed, which is a great advantage when checking and cleaning.
Despite many reservations, the starling is a rather conspicuous, but also extremely useful bird. While starlings can occasionally cause problems in certain monocultures, they are an important factor in pest control and thus actively help to keep agriculture and forestry free of pests such as mosquitoes, oak leafrollers, or gypsy moths.
