Blackberries, blueberries, elderberries, mead, currants, plums, quinces, cherries, sloes, white/red grapes, southern wines

The name of the yeast strains refers to their origin. They were isolated from the strains found there and are intended to contribute their beneficial properties during fermentation.
It is of course not possible to produce the respective wine type with these breeds (i.e., to make port wine with port wine yeast and apple juice), but one tries to use the good qualities of the breed to give the respective juice the optimal transformation.
