Oak wood chips impart an intense smoky aroma. With its woody, slightly bitter taste, it is well-suited for red meat or fatty fish, but also game or lamb.
Besides the distinctive smoky flavor, oak wood also gives a beautiful dark yellow to dark brown color when smoked.
Since oak wood contains tannins, it is important to store the smoking wood in a dry place.
