Swift nesting box for installation in building exterior walls

Operating principle of the starboard interlock:

Due to the starling's anatomy (long legs, etc.), it cannot get through the built-in barrier to the back of the nesting chamber. Swifts have very short legs and pass through this tunnel-like structure without any problems. This has been successfully tested over many years.

Retrofitting existing neighborhoods:

Existing nesting sites should generally not be converted, as swifts could otherwise injure their beaks during the rapid flight in.

It is known that swifts literally fly "blind" after returning to their breeding grounds, reoccupying their roosts from the previous year!

Can be embedded in the insulation layer during facade insulation measures.

Installation:

- Surface mounting on house walls or installation in insulation layers is possible. A mounting strip (part no. FS00614) must also be used for this.

- This nesting box can also be easily painted over with commercially available, breathable facade paint when attached to the facade.

- Minimum altitude under the entrance is 6 to 7 m above ground level. Please ensure unobstructed approach and departure routes.

- Providing several nesting aids to encourage colony formation is advantageous.

- On exterior facades or near the roof of buildings of all kinds, e.g. on residential buildings, industrial buildings, churches, road structures, walls or rock faces.

I. Recessed in the outer facade:

It is embedded or recessed into a facade. Flush installation is possible. It can also be installed within the insulation layer during facade insulation measures. The ug retaining strip may need to be used when installing it within the insulation.

II. From the outside, on or at the facade:

Mounting on surfaces such as house walls is also possible. For this, an additional mounting strip (see order no. FS00614) must be used. The box can also be easily painted over with standard, breathable facade paint when mounted on the facade.

Cleaning & inspection:

The front panel (with fall protection) is completely removable for inspection purposes. Cleaning is not strictly necessary.
