The design of this nesting box and its front panel effectively protects against cats and martens. Despite its large nesting chamber, the oval/three-hole design of the 2GR nesting box ensures a very bright interior. This brightness keeps the nest height very low for the birds. Furthermore, the nesting area is located in the rear of the nesting box.

For inspection and observation purposes, the front panel with its integrated cat and marten protection can be easily removed. This allows an unobstructed view into the breeding chamber and onto the nest.

The 2GR models are now equipped with a retreat angle for bats.
