This type of cave is very popular for large colony formations, especially by the greater noctule bat, the common pipistrelle and the brown long-eared bat.
The space, with its potential for large numbers of bats to gather indoors and its available roosting sites, is very attractive to these highly social animals for maternity colonies and raising their young. The front wall consists of three layers of grooved wooden panels. A special mounting plate with an insulated mesh is attached to the inner roof, providing optimal roosting and clinging positions for the bats.
This accommodation is suitable as a summer and transitional habitat. For overwintering, we recommend type 1FW.
