Spelt husks are a proven, natural choice for bedding in laying nests. They are biodegradable, readily available, and offer excellent absorbency and odor control.
Our Eivolution spelt husk bedding with diatomaceous earth ensures greater hygiene in the nest, protects the eggs from breakage and contamination, and provides the hens with a soft, comfortable surface.
Eggs that rest gently on the spelt bedding and sink in slightly are protected from contamination by dirt or droppings. Furthermore, the structure of the husks reduces egg pecking, as the eggs are no longer easily accessible.
What makes our bedding special?
The addition of diatomaceous earth sets our product apart from conventional spelt bedding. Diatomaceous earth is a natural, non-toxic powder made from fossilized diatoms with excellent effectiveness against parasites such as mites and lice.
The fine particles penetrate the insects' protective layer through their sharp edges and dry it out – an effective protection, both preventively and in case of acute infestation.
