Anyone who sells eggs has surely heard of it, the so-called egg regulation. It states:

"Eggs must be individually stamped before being placed on the market. This does not apply to hatching eggs, eggs sold directly from producers to the end consumer, or eggs that are fully dyed ."

The stamp must bear the name of the country of origin, either written out in full or abbreviated in an understandable form, using Latin letters at least 2 mm high. Only the ISO 2 code as listed in the country directory may be used as an abbreviation.

Anyone selling eggs, for example through a village shop or a village bakery, must stamp the eggs with a "CH" mark.
