Description
Wagtail/Dipper Box
(safe against small predators; also suitable for grey wagtails)
The dipper nest box No. 19 is frequently used for population control or in stream restoration projects, etc. Because it is predator-proof, breeding success is significantly better than in natural nesting sites.
Installation:
Easy to install with the adjustable mounting brackets. Recommended installation by screwing or using a bolt setting tool. Screws not included.
Mounting location: Under bridges, on steep banks, etc. In close proximity to a natural flowing body of water with relatively clean water. Nest box no. 19 should always be installed at least 0.5 m above the high-water line.
Experience has shown that the nesting box should always be placed directly above deeper, flowing water, as the dipper will drop into the water when danger approaches.
Cleaning & inspection:
Due to the relatively high parasite load in the nests of dippers, it is advisable to clean the nesting box after the breeding season - starting in August.

open at the bottom
