Sample devices for measuring alcohol content in distillates or water-distillate mixtures. The measurement is based on the density principle. These are sinking scales that are carefully immersed in the distillate until they float freely. Sinking scales are available for coarse and fine measurements. The required measuring or graduated cylinders depend on the length of the spindle.
Application : Carefully immerse the hydrometer in a 250 ml graduated cylinder containing the distillate until it floats freely. Read the value in volume percent (% vol) at the point where the liquid intersects the hydrometer. The alcoholmeter with thermometer displays the correction value (measured at 20°C) on the thermometer scale .
Caution: The thermometer must not reach or be exposed to a maximum temperature of 40°C.
